Positive Thinking

8 Tips for Positive Thinking

-    Begin each day being thankful for something… a specific family member, a good friend, your energy, your health or just be thankful for another day to be your best.

 -    When something doesn’t go just right, learn from the mistake, resolve to do better next time, and put the past behind you.

Be positive -    YOU are in charge of you.  That includes your thoughts and actions.  If you choose to let a situation bring you down, it will.  If you choose to “look on the bright side” or to think positively to the future, you’ll be amazed how quickly your mood can change.

 -    Practice!  As with every skill, it takes practice to be mindful of your attitude all day long, and still get your work and chores done!  Choose one positive thing to do each day, then add another.  Soon you won’t even realize these changes have been built into your routine.

 -    Frustrated?  Are you frustrated by something within your control or by an external circumstance?  If the frustration stems from something out of your control, do your best to let it go.

 -    Do it for others!  Your mood and outlook makes a big impact on those around you.  Choose a “Day of Awareness” for yourself and watch how others react to your smile, scowl or general attitude.

 -    Surround yourself with other positive thinkers.  Just as you have an impact on those around you; others have an impact on your outlook and your ability to find the positive.  If you see positive changes in your life, share the methods and changes that have worked for you.

 -    Remember that “tomorrow is a new day” or “the sun will come up tomorrow”.  These phrases are simple, yet meaningful.  No matter what happened today, tomorrow can be a fresh start.

Enjoying life to the fullest can have a lot to do with your approach.  Put a smile on your face, take a deep breath, give thanks, and look for the positive!
