Get out and enjoy the last of summer!
Farmers’ Market – Your neighborhood Farmers’ Market is packed with wonderful fruits and vegetables this time of year! To find a market near you, go to https://search.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets. Scroll down the page to enter your zip code and mileage range. For instance, you can search for markets 5 or 50 miles from your area.

Get Wet – If you haven’t lounged poolside, hit the beach or watched kids playing in a fountain or sprinkler, there’s still time! Children playing in the water have the sound of limitless joy. Sometimes it’s inspiring, and pushes us to find such simple delight in our lives.
Movie Night – Some municipalities offer Movies Under the Stars by showing favorite films on big screens in parks. Watch for information in your local paper or news site or call your local park department for information. You bring a lawn chair — and a few snacks of course! — and sit back to enjoy. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, take a friend to a local theater for a new release. Spending time with friends, who might as well be family, never gets old.
Play Ball – Nothing says summer like a good baseball game. Whether you watch a major league team, a college game or one in the neighborhood, watch while you can. As summer fades, so does the baseball season.
Day Trips – For those in very warm climates, the end of summer and the beginning of fall is a good time to get out and do things outside. Day trips are available everywhere and they don’t have to come with a big price tag either. Engage a friend or family member for a trip to a botanical garden, outdoor shopping center, outdoor music concert or theatrical performance.
No matter what activity you choose as your “last hurrah” to summer, do it with your family or family of friends!
